Barranquilla inaugurates the new home of the Colombian National Team
Barranquilla continues to solidify its position as the true home of Colombian football. In February 2026, a modern hotel was inaugurated in the Alameda del Río area, which will serve as the official training camp for the Colombian National Team—an infrastructure project that marks a milestone in the city’s sporting development.
The new complex, known as the High Performance Accommodation Center
It was built within the Colombian Football Federation’s sports complex in Barranquilla, integrating with the existing training fields, gyms, and medical facilities. The project covers approximately 4,000 square meters and was designed to provide footballers with everything they need to train, rest, and recover before matches, all in one convenient location.
The hotel features 48 single and double rooms, as well as wellness areas such as a spa, massage rooms, a barbershop, a state-of-the-art gym, tactical analysis rooms, and recreational spaces. Every detail was designed to enhance athletic performance and reinforce the players’ identity, including decor that features replicas of historic national team jerseys.
The project represented an investment of approximately 37 billion pesos, with financial support from CONMEBOL and resources from the Colombian Football Federation. With this world-class infrastructure, Barranquilla reaffirms its role as the epicenter of national football and as a city capable of hosting international sporting events.
