Barranquilla vuelve a ser nominada en los World Travel Awards

The city of Barranquilla continues to solidify its position as one of Latin America’s most important emerging destinations. Recently, the city was nominated again for the prestigious World Travel Awards, considered by many to be the “Oscars of tourism,” an accolade that recognizes the world’s most influential destinations, hotels, and tourism projects.

The nomination places Barranquilla alongside important cities on the continent that compete for the main awards in the tourism industry.

This recognition highlights the growth the city has experienced in recent years thanks to its urban development, its infrastructure for events, and its growing cultural and gastronomic offerings.

Among the factors that have driven this nomination is the success of tourist attractions like the Gran Malecón del Río, considered one of the most attractive riverfront promenades in Colombia. This area has become a meeting point for visitors and residents, offering restaurants, cultural spaces, sports facilities, and stunning views of the Magdalena River.

Furthermore, the city is internationally recognized for celebrations such as the Barranquilla Carnival, declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, which attracts thousands of tourists every year interested in experiencing one of the most important festivals in Latin America.

With this new nomination, Barranquilla reaffirms its growth as a tourist destination and strengthens its international projection as a vibrant, creative city full of unique experiences for those who visit it.
